Lucky for us, none of our cats has any desire to go outside, so we have no flight risks in our house. There will always be a new adorable cat, there will always be a sweet story for us to smile at, and cats will always continue to rule the internet. As they should. 

If you're looking for some warmth on a cold Tuesday morning, you've stumbled upon the purrfect place. Warmth doesn't always come from external stimuli, but rather from things that warm the heart more than any space heater could.Cats. Felines. All of the above and everything in between; We've been blessed to exist in the same timeline as the feline species. Since their domestication, cats have figured out how to not only milk food and shelter out of random hooman they stumbled upon on the street via the cat distribution system, but also how to worm their way into our hooman hearts and stay there furever.We're approaching the official transition to the winter season, and that means you and your feline companion will need a bit of extra warmth until the snow melts and the warmth returns in the spring. Though your feline can manage by way of their fur, your warm lap, and a sliver of sunlight peeking through the window, we hoomans have to bear the cold every day outside of our homes. The cold weather and total lack of sunlight are officially turning all of us into Scrooge. Not the fun, redeemed-by-the-ghosts Scrooge that happens at the end of the movie, but rather the pre-epiphany version who side-eyes carolers and mutters under his breath about holiday cheer. When the sun sets before we've even eaten lunch and the wind feels like an insult, it's hard not to spiral into full winter gremlin mode.But thankfully, there's one saving grace that keeps us from becoming full-time curmudgeons, and that is our cats. They could not care less what time of year it is. Seasonal depr*ssion? Holiday stress? Existential dread brought on by darkness at 4:30 PM? Your cat has absolutely no interest in participating. They're too busy loafing on warm laundry, demanding dinner at the same time every day, and acting personally offended when you dare to step outside and return with cold hands.

Winter has a way of slowing everything down, like a house cat settling in for a very long nap. The days are shorter, the pace is quieter, and even small bursts of joy feel more noticeable. That is usually when a quick boost of happiness comes in handy, even if it only lasts a few moments.Cat memes fit perfectly into those in-between moments. They are easy, familiar, and instantly mood-lifting without asking for much in return. A quick scroll can break up the day, add a little warmth, or turn an ordinary afternoon into something slightly more fun. There is comfort in knowing that no matter the weather, there is always something silly waiting to make you smile.Those small smiles add up over time. They make winter feel cozier instead of dull and help everyday routines feel lighter. When the season stretches on, having something simple and cheerful to check in on can keep spirits up and remind you that joy can still sneak in, one cat-filled moment at a time.

Sometimes the cat distribution system works quietly. One minute this family was heading out for a normal walk, and the next they were watching neighbors attempt and fail to catch a scruffy cat who had clearly decided their yard was the place to be. When everyone else gave up and moved on, the cat stayed put. With years of fostering experience kicking in, the moment felt familiar. This wasn't panic or chaos. It was recognition.Once inside, the transformation started fast. Food disappeared, a long nap followed, and the tension he'd been carrying seemed to drain away. A bath came next, turning a very dirty outdoor cat into a soggy, unimpressed one. But wrapped up snugly in a towel like a proper purrito, something shifted. That was the exact moment he decided these humans were his people.There was no grand announcement, just a calm, mutual understanding. He settled in like he'd always belonged there, and the family realized they hadn't rescued a cat at all. They'd simply been assigned one, right on schedule.

Cats that can adapt themselves to the world around them are harder to come by than a Pokémon shiny Charizard card. Which is what makes this story all the more unbelievable and unlikely, as one of these legendary cats found itself plonked in the headquarters of a trucking company after a houseless person broke into the facility with the cat and later abandoned it there.Yes, that is right, an origin story more convoluted and confusing than the plot to Inception. But alas, that is how this story of feline-trucker brotherhood begins and blossoms into one of the sweetest tales we have had the good fortune to share with you. So without further delay, we invite you to dive into the story of a trucker and his truck cat as they journey through the storied highways of America.

There's an instinct in us all that when we hear a kitten crying, we want to run to its need. The people in the story below hear a kitten crying under their neighbor's BBQ. They instinctively go to help it. They see she's covered in flees and other things, so they immediately take her home to wash her. Despite her scratching them and putting up a fight out of fear, they get her to come to them, get her in a bath at their home, and wash her so she's clean. After all the vet checks and shots, they eventually decide to actually keep her, despite planning on giving her away. What stole their hearts was her fierceness, her strong will, and her beautiful hazel eyes. They named her Olivia, but nicknamed her Wolfy due to her strong teeth and claws. She loves to climb all over the computer keyboard and desk while they're working, a typical cat naughty behavior. The story is so adorable and wholesome. With 2025 coming to an end, it's important to remember the wholesome moments, the good times, and the kindness of a stranger who takes in a kitten instead of leaving her under a barbeque.

Every pawrent who adopted a cat knows almost automatically that this is their baby, for life (because cats' baby-ness doesn't depend on their age, really). You take care of your cat dutifully, you feed your feline friend, you shower them with treats and toys, make time for play and shenanigans, and generally love your cat to bits as you've never loved any creature before. When you adopt a cat - you adopt a family member. And that's a truth all pawrents know from day one.But some cats… How will we put it? Some cats are… greedy. For more family, more attention, and probably more treats. And honestly, could you blame them? One such cat living with a family in a community was a wandering cat. It's not that uncommon in close-knit and safe communities. But this one floofy feline? One family wasn't enough for him. But the best part - the cat kept it a secret. It's hilarious, we know, and luckily so - also the families of this cat thought so.We don't know if it's a bug in the Cat Distribution System's adoption designation, but it seems like they designated this cat more than once. And, you know what? He enjoys every minute (and extra treat) of it. We wish every cat had this many people taking care of them.

Honestly, if we needed to choose one thing that could make anyone laugh, we'd choose a funny feline flaunting its Very Cat™ behavior. Because there's nothing funnier in this world than a cat acting exactly like a cat. Yeah, strange, but also silly as heck.Seriously, cats are the funniest because they are weird little creatures. It's not so uncommon for doggos to find a fuzzy friend and bring them home, but a cat? That's something quite rare and unique! Maine coons are adventurous felines - sometimes behaving more like dogs than normal cats. They have even been known to play fetch and become purrfectly attached to their hoomans. But the maine coon in our video today became attached to something else…a wolf pup! The cat found the wild wolf pup outside and brought him home to his hooman family, and wouldn't take no for an answer (as if you can ever truly say "no" to a cat in the furst place!).The two quickly became more than friends, they became family. The pup grew, and as he did, so did their dynamic. From cleaning each other to hissterical playtime, the two are often found side-by-side, either napping or exploring something new. The pupper integrated purrfectly into their home, and you know his "big" sister had a lot to do with that. If you've ever owned a cat, you know that they have no patience for shenanigans except for their own. Their friendship may be unlikely, but it's pawsitively sweet. Enjoy this snowy, wintery, and heartwarming story of fuzzy friends becoming family!

Sigh, a story as old as time… People keep calling themselves "not cat people", and cats just keep proving them wrong. It's not that you are not a cat person, it's that you have not met the right cat for you yet. We don't know anyone who is able to resist the fluffy cuteness of a kitten on a screen. The difference between that and real life is very, very small. It's okay though. These people can keep believing that. We don't need to do any convincing. The cats will do it themselves. Ask the person in this story. They never wanted a cat, never asked for a cat, never thought they would have one. And just like that, one day, they got adopted by the sweetest trashcan kitten, and that's it. That is all it took. The right cat has crossed their path, and their whole opinion about felines changed. It happened so fast and so hard that now, they not only have one cat, they actually have two. 

Tis the season, everyone. It is the season of sparkles, the season of ugly sweaters, extremely sweet hot cocoas, presents, trees and, of course, it is the season of cat chaos. Every single year, without fail, cats fall for the elusive trap that is the Christmas tree. They cannot resist it. It's simply too sparkly and enticing. Cats and Christmas trees… their story is an iconic one at this point. Cats climb the sparkly trees, looking to reach that purrfect sumit - to become the star, and then, one of two things happen. Either the cat gets stuck on the Christmas tree, or - more likely - in its attempt to come down from the Christmas tree, the cat takes the whole thing down with it. And so, the story of cats vs. Christmas continues for yet another year, and we have a fresh batch of felines causing festive chaos for everyone to enjoy. Yes, including the owners of said trees. Because Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without at least a little cat chaos. 

One thing that we have learned over our time as people who love cats a whole lot is that… it really doesn't take all that much to win over a feline. All it takes, for a lot of cats, is one act of kindness. Show a cat that you genuinely care about it, and it will remember you. Feed it once, and it will come back to you. And if you accidentally end up feeding a momma cat, well… she will come back, but she might not come back alone. That's what happened with this cat. All it took was giving the cat food once, and the cat knew immediately that they were dealing with a kind person, a genuine person. And as a momma cat living outside in the big world, looking for food not just for herself but also for her little ones, she saw not only kindness but also an opportunity. So, the next day, the momma cat came back with all of her babies - all six of them, and the human did not disappoint.

Cartoons created for the Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies' gathering of their climate and environment portfolio grantees, which were designed as caption contests for the participants. Earlier this year I had the opportunity to draw cartoons on one of the most desired mammals on my wildlife wishlist- the Mediterranean Monk Seal. The cartoons are meant as commuication resources for SPA/RAC's Mediterranean Monk Seal Project, to unite biologists, conservationists, funders, governments, fishers and citizens in the conservation of the Mediterranean Monk Seal. Thanks to Julie Belmont and SPA/RAC for this fun commission!

I recently had the pleasure of collaborating with Birdlife Montenegro over three delightful cartoons on bird ringing, that were used as creatives on communication collateral and merchandise at the bird ringing camp at Ulcinj Salina, an important wetland and migratory bird pathway on the Adriatic Sea. A huge thanks to Ksenija Medenica and the CZIP Montenegro team for the opportunity! (For context in the second cartoon- Montenegrins are considered the laziest among Europe, and they're so proud of the tag that they even have a laziness contest!)

Happy #WorldTurtleDay ! Delighted to share the first of two comics I created for the impact campaign of Gunjan Menon's National Geographic film, 'Looking for Lao Mura', about the critically endangered Black Softshell Turtle. Doubly chuffed that the comics will be up on display in Assamese locally! In collaboration with Freshwater Turtles and Tortoises of IndiaSo grateful for this opportunity, Gunjan, Anuja Mital and Pradeep Hegde!

(Click on the image for a larger view)In one of my lengthiest and most detailed illustration projects yet, I got the honour of working closely with the fabulous team at The Seachange Project (creators of the Oscar winning documentary 'My Octopus Teacher')- to create a vision of hope for the Great African Seaforest, a vast expanse of kelp forest in the Atlantic Ocean along the western coast of South Africa. From the glamorous Cape Fur Seal, Cape Clawless Otter and the African Penguin to little known klipfish and limpets, the Great African Seaforest is home to a myriad marine organisms that make the kelp a living, breathing, and a dancing ecosystem! Many of these creatures are threatened by overfishing and anthropogenic disturbances today, and conservationists at the Seachange Project are working towards establishing safe, undisturbed habitats for these species to bounce back.The illustration is available as a freely downloadable resource on the organization's website here. A massive thanks to the Seachange team (Swati Thiyagarajan, Craig Foster, Carina Frankal, Dani Ehrlich, Jannes Landschoff) for trusting me with the illustration, for having me at Cape Town for a field visit, and for their patience through the project!

Efforts by the Kazakh government, NGOs and people have paid off enough to bring the Saiga from critically endangered to near-threatened on the IUCN Red List. After earning a dubious reputation the world over, carbon credits are coming to India in the form of the Green Credits Programme. After decades of consistently failing to preserve wetlands, grasslands and scrublands, the MoEFCC and the Government of India refuse to even recognize these as crucial ecosystems. New studies have found that hybridization between two of the largest animals on earth- the Blue Whale and the Fin Whale, is far more common than previously thought. What's more, some of these hybrids have also found to be fertile, indicating the occurrence to be beneficial particularly for the endangered Blue Whale! Cartoon for Roundglass Sustain.

As an illustrator and an orophile, my dream of summiting Nepal's mountains was through drawing them, and this map of our beautiful neighbour's biodiversity, mountains and people, created for the International Mountain Museum at Pokhara, was the perfect opportunity! From the tallest peaks in the world to the most pristine grasslands, from creatures as large as the Wild Yak and the bone-cracking Lammergeiers, to the diminutive Hispid Hare and the Himalayan Newt, from intricate architectural marvels like the Darbar Square monuments to the rustic Mustang Caves, here is Nepal in all its glory.Nepal's majesty, mystique and aura can never be justly captured in illustration, and certainly not contemporary illustration. So when this challenge was thrown at me, I was convinced that incorporating stylistic elements from its indigenous art form Paubha (the precursor to Himalayan Thangka) would be the only way of doing justice to a project of this nature. I must convey a huge thanks to Samuel Thomas for facilitating a visit to the veteran Nepalese Paubha artist Lok Chitrakar's art studio, where I received some very important quick tips and insights into not just the art form but also the mind of the Paubha artists who he trains. The map will soon be on display at the International Mountain Museum. If you happen to visit Pokhara, do pay the museum a visit!
