  • Adorably funny grandma pretends to hate her adopted kitten while cuddling and loving on him in secret: 'Yeah, he's cute, but I don't want nothing to do with him'

This might be the granniest granny that we have ever seen. Add a hyperenergetic growing kitten into the mix, and you have one of the cutest duos ever.Everybody knows that we love cats. There is no hiding it, and we don't try. We claim our cat lady status with pride. Cats are adorable. That's a fact, and we would fight anyone who told us otherwise. No matter how many cats we see - online, at home, outside - we never get sick of them. Forever, we are going to space in our hearts for cats. And for grandmas. We don't know about you, but something about old ladies just makes us happy. They (yes, all of them) remind us of our own grandma, who was the best grandma, and we cannot help but have so much fondness for them. Take our love for grandmas and our love for cats, put them together, and… this video becomes our absolute cryptonite. The fact that the grandma in this video might be one of the granniest grandmas that we have ever seen totally does not help.In the video, the grandma was adopted by a kitten. Granny didn't choose a cat. She wasn't gifted a cat. The kitten chose her, as always happens. Of course, Granny loves the cat, but… she refuses to admit it. Listen, the kitty does get into her flour and does climb the curtains and is kind of obsessed with her white hair, so we understand some of the complaints. But we don't think that it's possible to hate a cat. And grandma doesn't think so either. She continues to deny it, of course, but as her grandson says, "there is video evidence". Constantly, Granny gets caught cuddling with the kitty and asking the kitty to give her love. Even with the kitty in her arms, she will deny the love that she has for him, but we know. We can see it. In every single clip of them together. And just like this, this has become one of our new favorite videos on the whole entire internet.

  • Sweet street cat that waited every morning for his chosen human before work finally gets adopted, then instantly becomes friends with the other cat and makes himself at home: '[He] is not a street cat anymore'

There is only so long that you can resist when a cat chooses to adopt you. Cats adopt their humans. In the cat community, this is not merely an idea- it is a statement of fact. You may think, when you walk into a shelter, that you have some choice in the matter, that you get to decide, but no, you don't. You may walk into a shelter wanting to adopt a kitten and adopt the oldest cat instead. You may never get to the shelter in the first place, because a cat will decide to adopt you when you're on a walk outside. You never know when or how it will happen, but once it does - once you are chosen, resistance is futile. Countless times, we have seen people who "hate cats" get chosen by them and fall in love. They may resist for a while. They may try to hold onto this idea of cat hatred. But cats don't give their humans a choice in the matter. Cats adopt, and we adjust, and then, we realize just how lucky we are to have been chosen by them. Yes, it took a minute for the person who shared their story on r/notmycat to accept that their "notmycat" has become "nowmycat", but eventually, they did, and now, they are all the happier for it.

  • Lucky newborn kitten tossed away like trash found by cat lover who saved her life and became her fluffiest treasure, rescuer says: 'She is a survivor'

You know what they say: one purrson's trash is another purrson's treasure. Here is a list of appropriate things to throw away in a garbage bag: Food scraps, wrapping paper, empty chip bags, scribbled-on pieces of paper, popped balloons, pens that ran out of ink, and your cat's fur after you brush them. You know what's not on this list? A cat. Or a kitten. Or any living creature, for that matter. We'll never understand people who think it's okay to throw away a kitten in a garbage bag and just leave it there. We're not big on punishment, but if there was any action that deserved a harsh punishment, it should be that one.Discarded like trash, a newborn kitten was thrown away with its umbilical cord still attached, according to our cat lover's story in Reddit's r/Kittens subreddit. The rescuer's quick thinking saved this kitten's life, by bringing to a veterinarian quickly and getting it on kitten formula. It's now two weeks later, the kitten has finally opened her eyes and is now curious about her new home and the hoomans around her. Thankfully, for Harley (the kitten), this story has a happy ending, but this isn't the case with every discarded cat or kitten. We wrote an article a few days ago about Turkey and its relationship with its stray cats. The cats there are treated with respect, and they even have laws protecting them from crimes against them caused by hoomans. How did they manage this? By declassifying cats as "property" and reclassifying them as "living beings". It's crazy to us that still, in 2026, this isn't the standard everywhere. They may not speak the same language as us, but they still feel and they do not deserve to be discarded like litter. We hope that one day soon, cats will have hte same universal protections everywhere, and purrhaps, people will learn to be a little kinder.

  • A Rainbow of Fabulous Feline Funnies to Celebrate Pride Month the Purrfect Way

Cats are fabulous, and so is Pride Month. Coincidence? We think not.Not only is June "National Cat Adoption month", but it's also Pride Month. The one month a year when LGBTQ people celebrate with parades, parties, and demonstrations all around the world. They may look frivolous and flamboyant on the outside, but their history is much harsher. It all started in June 1969, when police raided Stonewall Inn in New York City. The LGBTQIA+ community rioted and protested for days after, leading to the national recognition of our community and what we call Pride Month today. Now, you may be thinking to yourself, "But what does this have to do with cats?", and we have the purrfect answer. There are many documented cases of gay relationships in animals, most notably in sheep (where around 10% of sheep are considered gay), and also in penguins! We also have some purrsonal evidence to submit - one of our cats is gay. Even after being sterilized, he's only been interested in men. He hisses at anything female, and is suspiciously sweet with other male cats and hooman guys. What other explanation can there be other than that he's a little… you know. But even if your cats aren't gay, they can still support their LGBTQIA+ pawrents. They love them more than any other hooman, and below, they're purroudly representing them with all the gay apparel their pawrents could find. Remember that Pride Month is about inclusivity - it's not about excluding those who aren't part of the community. It's about love, acceptance, and being fabulous. The fact that both cats and Pride Month are fabulous is too close to be a coincidence, if you ask us. We think they've always been supporters, now we just have the social media posts to prove it.

  • 30 Purrfect Pictures of Cats Getting a Front-Row Seat to Their Human's Face

A cat sitting on you is equal parts affection, inconvenience, and honor.Every pawrent knows the feeling of opening their eyes and finding a cat sitting directly on their chest, staring down at them like they're about to deliver some very important news. The news is usually breakfast.Cats have an uncanny ability to place themselves in the most inconvenient and adorable positions possible. Your lap isn't enough. The couch cushion next to you won't do. They want the premium seating location, which is apparently right on top of you. Bonus points if they're positioned in a way that makes it impossible for you to reach your phone, stand up, or continue breathing normally. Then there's the stare. You look up and suddenly find yourself making direct eye contact with a feline sitting six inches from your face. Sometimes they're purring. Sometimes they're silently judging. Sometimes they're simply existing there for reasons known only to them.Moving isn't really an option. The moment a cat settles onto your chest, legs, or stomach, you become trapped by the ancient laws of cat ownership. Getting up would disturb the cat, and everyone knows that's forbidden. The funny thing is that most cat pawrents secretly love it. Sure, circulation may be temporarily cut off to one of your limbs, and yes, your cat somehow weighs three times more when sitting directly on you, but it's hard to complain. Being chosen as a feline mattress is one of the highest honors a cat can bestow upon a human.

  • 'A cat was a big change': Lifelong dog owner never imagined a parking-lot rescue would make him a cat person

The best pets show up when you're not looking for one.If Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit has taught cat lovers anything, it's that the CDS rarely sends advance notice. One minute you're walking your dog, and the next you're bringing home a kitten you never planned on adopting. That's exactly what happened when one man spotted a kitten crying alone in a parking lot on a cold February afternoon. The little guy was dirty, scared, and clearly in need of help. After being picked up, he got a warm bath and a safe place to spend the night while his rescuers figured out their next steps. The original plan was simple: get the kitten cleaned up and then bring him to the Humane Society or another organization that could find him a home.Plans don't always work out. Before long, the kitten had charmed both husband and wife, turning a temporary rescue into a permanent home. For someone who had spent their entire life owning dogs, welcoming a cat into the household was a major change. There was plenty to learn, from understanding feline behavior to figuring out the basics of kitten care, but it quickly became clear that the adjustment was worth it.Today, this cat healthy, thriving, and about to celebrate his six-month birthday. Looking at him now, it's hard to picture the tiny, dirty kitten who was sitting by himself in a parking spot just a few months ago.Sometimes all it takes is stopping to help. In this case, a quick act of kindness turned into a lifelong friendship and one very happy cat.

  • Man who found void kitten hiding in car engine after two days of mysterious meows while driving, gives fur baby a warm home after a slow and patience testing rescue, cat dad says: ‘I knew I couldn’t leave it there so I tried to lure it with more treats’

Sometimes your car just starts meowing at you. At first you might think your engine is feeling a little rough, maybe the cold mornings have taken their toll. But if you are this story's rescuer, you might actually have a cat in your engine…Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit is full of interesting ways in which kittens and cats met their hoomans. For some it was a meet cute outside a local restaurant dumpster, for others they were plucked from bags and boxes, and in the case of this curious kitten, it was found terrified in the engine of a car. A unique albeit warm place to be hiding in and one that it certainly did not plan on making its home. But that is the way things often go in these cat stories, there is little forward planning.Thankfully, this kitten was not going to sit and take their predicament. Instead opting to meow its little heart out until it was able to catch the attention of the hoomans who would come to save it. So the moral of the story is, if you hear meowing coming from your engine, you are not just that cat obsessed and sleep deprived, you might actually have a feline fur baby waiting for you to pluck them from the engine and into your home.

  • Caring couple finds a 5-week-old kitten under their car in a gas station, just after talking about getting their 4-year-old feline family member a new friend

When you wish upon a cat, makes no difference where you are, anything your heart desires, CDS will deliver to you.It seems the CDS is just as alive and kicking as it was in the day it was first discovered. It was always a known fact that the Cat Distribution System are the purrfect match makers of the cat adoption world, but the thing is - they literally never slow down, and always keep on showing us how they do the most purrfect job ever. And when we see adoption stories like this one, of a lonely kitten being adopted, we understand it even more. Because the CDS doesn't just match the cat in need to the people who will give them forever homes - they match the people who wish for a cat to the perfect little feline family extension they've always wanted.Besides, it's always funny to see these people writing in the r/notmycat community, because it starts as "this is not my cat, but here's what had happened until this point…" and usually it ends in a Not My Cat becoming Yes My Cat, as the post and its updates continue. And the person updating on this kitten in a gas station solidifies the CDS's importance - they wished for a cat, and a kitten in need is going to get to his forever home.We know kind people who adopt cats are everywhere, but we truly believe they should be celebrated. So here's to this couple with a cat, who adopted another one!

  • 35 Feline Funnies Featuring the Most Cat Pawsts of the Week

Cat content is everywhere, but funny enough, it's sometimes hard to get to it.All cat people love a good and healthy dose of cute cat content in their daily scroll. And not just cat people - but everyone. It's no wonder that cats rule the internet for literal decades, because it's not only cat people who enjoy all this ocean of cat content. It's literally everybody. But as cat people ourselves, we're obviously not surprised. Cats are insanely cute, they're so silly it's hilarious, and they never fail to make us laugh or "aww" audibly. • Woman rescues the struggling runt of the litter, kitten starts to thrive as it befriends her adult cat who was also rescued from the streets: ‘All you have to do is give them a chance.’

Are you a cat parent? As a cat mom or daddy, you want to make sure all your kittens get a chance. Yes, even the runt. But that sometimes tends to only be a human cat parent trait… You see, in the wild, it is usually survival of the fittest. So if you are a cat mom trying to survive in the wild, then you aren't really going to give attention to the cat that is going to keep the rest of the litter back. However, cats don't have to be on in the wild. So that means us humans can rescue a runt and give them the best life ever! As TikToker @kaleihz2g says, "sometimes, all you have to do is give them a chance."And a chance she gave, indeed! She recently rescued the runt of a litter who was struggling. She named her Marie, and she was covered in fleas, starving, and too tired to even play. This woman brought her into her home, and she is now thriving. But it's not just the human who helped this little kitten's glow up happen. This cat mama has a grown boy cat who was also rescued as a struggling kitten.

  • Sweet as Pie Cat Memes For a Dose of Deliciousness This Morning

A little bit of sugar never hurt anyone. Everyone likes something sweet now and again. Even people who claim they don't like sweet things, desserts, or sugar, they all fall to the appeal of sweet cravings at some point. In a world that's hyper focused on health, aesthetics, and looking your best, a bit of shameless dessert time is crucial. There's something deliciously sweet about cat memes. Maybe it's their furry faces and innocent eyes hiding their chaos. They give off the same feeling that eating pie gives us, like we're being comforted by something wholesome. • 'He pays his rent by slaying spiders, flies and moths': Orange kitten found in a trash bin and is now king of the house with his furrever cat pawrent

Would you save an orange one brain cell from a trash bin?The distant meows heard from a trash bin turned out to be this adorable orange kitten. In Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem, this guy found his orange soulmate. He posted about it initially because he had no idea what to do with a stray kitten who needed help. 7 months later, the two are inseparable, and live together in cat-human harmony. It's important to be on the lookout for meows, fur, and cats no matter where you are. Enjoy this story and remember they're not known as one brain cell for nothing!

  • 'He's now an indoor only cat who is living his best life': One year after showing up skinny and hungry, Smokey's transformation is incredible

Smokey showed up looking for food, but he ended up finding a family.Cat lovers on Reddit's r/cats subreddit often talk about the cats that seem to choose their humans, and Smokey's story fits that description perfectly. About a year ago, a family opened their front door and found a young cat sitting casually on a deck chair. When they greeted him, he answered with a raspy meow that sounded like he'd been smoking for years. It was a small moment that ended up changing all of their lives. At first, they assumed Smokey belonged to someone nearby. He was incredibly friendly from the start, but they didn't want to accidentally take in a cat that already had a home. As they spent more time with him, however, they noticed he was far too skinny. He was dirty, dehydrated, and covered in fleas. After getting some food and water, he wandered off, leaving them disappointed and wondering if they'd ever see him again. The answer came later that night. When the family returned home, Smokey was waiting for them on the porch. The next day they took him to be scanned for a microchip, but none was found. Soon after, he was neutered, microchipped, and officially welcomed into the family.Looking back, they believe Smokey may have been abandoned when someone moved out of a nearby apartment complex. Whatever his past was, life is very different now. The once-skinny stray who struggled with overgrooming has grown into a happy, healthy indoor cat. What started with a raspy meow on a deck chair turned into the kind of rescue story every cat lover hopes for.

  • 30 Relatable Memes of Felines Feeling the Meownday Madness

Nobody wakes up on Monday and thinks, "I wish the weekend had ended sooner."Monday has somehow earned the title of the most unpopular day of the week. After two glorious days of sleeping in, relaxing, and pretending responsibilities don't exist, Monday barges in demanding purrductivity before most people have even finished their first cup of coffee.Cats seem to understand this better than anyone. If given the choice, most felines would spend Monday exactly the same way they spend every other day: curled up in a warm spot, avoiding unnecessary effort, and pretending not to hear anyone calling their name. It's a lifestyle many humans find particularly appealing around 7 a.m. on a Monday morning. The real problem with Mondays is that they arrive far too quickly. Friday feels like it takes forever to show up, yet somehow the weekend disappears in the blink of an eye. One minute you're enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon, and the next you're setting alarms, checking schedules, and wondering where all your free time went.By Monday morning, even the smallest tasks can feel dramatic. Getting out of bed becomes an Olympic event. Answering emails feels like climbing a mountain. Existing before noon seems like an unreasonable request.Fortunately, Mondays don't last forever. They may arrive with all the grace of a cat knocking a glass off the table, but eventually Tuesday shows up, everyone settles back into a routine, and life goes on. Until then, a little caffeine, a little patience, and a healthy sense of humor can go a long way.

  • 'Paint me like one of your French girls': 40 Cats Purrfectly Posing for Accidental Renaissance Realpurrism

The Accidental Renaissance picture genre is so dramatic that it fits cats like a glove to a paw. There's something extra striking about still moments in time that look like a master painting from the Renaissance era - they all embodied a revolutionary shift toward realism, humanism, and Greco-Roman classicism. Or in other words, art was full of the entire range of human emotions engulfed in a lot of dramatic lighting and tragic messaging. So, naturally, cats do it best. Drama and emotion, coupled with being purrfect models for the camera, is the combination that's right up our cats' alley. Are we surprised cats do it better than any other potential Accidental Renaissance models? Not in the slightest. But does it mean that we're tired of seeing them striking these dramatic poses? Not at all. We want to see more and more of it. And that's exactly why we asked our darling cat community of the I Can Has Facebook page to show us their cats doing their best, most intentional Accidental Renaissance poses. Honestly, it feels like walking through a museum.

  • 30 Floppy Flexible Felines Relaxing in Hissterical Pawsitions to Comfortingly Coerce You Back to Bed

Monday meowrnings are the purrfect time for cuddling your cats. Your alarm goes off, you groggily wake up and feel your cat's fluffy body curled up against yours. You hug them closer, and realize you can't find their head. After rubbing the cobwebs from your eyes, you see that they are relaxing in the shape of a twisty-bobcat-pretzel. If they can manage to be comfy like that, then we can stay in bed for a few minutes longer, right? One of the most hissterical parts of being a cat owner is finding your cat sleeping (or even relaxing) in pawsitions that are not hoomanly pawssible to relax in. It's a running joke in the cat community that all of our cats come in both liquid and solid states, meaning that they can randomly become thick, normal objects to lift, or basically just a sack of bones and fluids. In their liquid state, we often say that they have noodles for bones because their bones seem to bend in any direction without any resistance. The only bad part is you don't get to choose when your cat is in its liquid or solid state, it's some sort of inner meowchanism that our hooman brains can't comprehend.Because of the fluid state of our felines, we often find them looking like we didn't read the instructions properly when assembling them. More than that, they look like a hooman chiropractor's nightmare. Their spines are purrfectly flexible, with nearly double the number of vertebrae than we hoomans have. Even though it's relaxing for them, it can be slightly stressful for us. When you can't find your cat's head and can only see limbs, you can't help but think the worst for a few seconds. There may be endless amounts of cat pictures on the internet, but these one below of flexible felines relaxing in hissterical pawsitions make us want to call our chiropractor, and then get back into bed. It's Monday meowrning, and we don't really need another excuse to stay in bed, but we'll take this one!

  • 'Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou horizontal?': Stray orange cat interrupts Turkish purrformance of Romeo & Juliet, and steals the show

We always say the one thing that could make every purrformance better is a cat, but this ballet performance of Romeo & Juliet in Turkey actually got one.Turkey has the most wonderful relationship with its country's cats. It's the ultimate destination for cat lovers (and for hair transplants, but that's a different story). The citizens there love and care for the stray cats, and there are even lots of laws protecting them. Community animals in Turkey cannot be captured or put down, they must be fed, sterilized, and then returned to their neighborhoods. They're a part of the citizens' lives, and it's not abnormal for them to randomly join into the hoomans' activities, but one stray orange cat decided that it was his turn in the limelight.Whether by accident or on purrpose, the little orange stray found himself on stage during a ballet purrformance of Romeo & Juliet. The dancers, unphased, continued on with the purrformance as if nothing was there, which is not something we could do if a cat was trying to eat our hair while we were resting on stage. Some argue that the brain cell-less kitty interrupted the purrformance, but we think he enhanced it. If you think about it, there were probably lots of stray cats during that time period, so it seems more historically accurate that a cat would wander up to a poisoned Romeo, and loaf on him while he was still warm. One thing is fur sure, though, is that this cat stole the show. The video of his star purrformance is going viral on X right now thanks to @Yoda4ever 's post depicting the whole thing. Purrhaps this is the key to getting more people into ballet performances nowadays, simply add cats and see how the audience and dancers react. We might be on to something!See all the discourse below about this surprise star on the rise, and how the internet is reacting to his purrfect performance!

  • Couple adopts tiny orange kitten they found dehydrated on a road in the scorching Texas heat, he bonds with them instantly, knowing they saved his life: 'he likely wouldn't have survived much longer on his own'

If you saw a tiny orange kitten dehydrated in the middle of the road on a hot summer day, what would you do?Adopting a cat is rarely something that you actively decide on. Generally speaking, the cat comes to the human and not the other way around. And it can happen to you anywhere and anytime, including when you're just cruising along on the road in the middle of a completely ordinary day. If you were the one who came across this hurt kitten in the middle of the road, as you were just going on about your day, would you have stopped to help?Going by the condition that the kitten was in when the couple rescued it, he had to have been a long time before anyone stopped. There was no way to miss that this kitten needed help. One look at her, and anyone would have known. We know that most people don't stop in situations like these, but really, that kitten didn't need most people. He needed that one couple who stopped - one couple who cared enough, who wanted to help. That was enough. We need to be thankful for the ones who stop. Because they not only change these kittens' lives, they save them.

  • Feral kitten abandoned by cat mom found in poor condition hiding under car in body shop by employee who scooped it up and gave the fur baby an affectionate home with extended family, rescuer says: ‘He will always be warm with me and my family.’

A kitten who has been abandoned is one of the saddest things to come across in this life. But in the same breath also one of the happiest as it presents a golden opportunity to help a helpless soul in need. Which is exactly what this cat dad stepped up to do.This story from Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit is actually quite a unique one and happily it is for heartwarming reasons rather than sad ones. For while there is nothing out of the ordinary in cat rescue circles about finding a kitten alone in a workplace. There is a lot to be said for the amount of people who were willing to put their lives on hold to make sure that this neglected kitten would make a full recovery and lead a life full of love and treats. Not only was this cat's rescuer and his family more than happy to step up to the plate, and with two cat children of their own that is no mean feat. but also our rescuers' parents-in-law raised their hands and threw their hats into the ring. All of them prepawed to put their sleep and sanity on the line to help out a sweet soul in need.

  • Watch: Woman adopts senior cat that lived in the shelter for two years, has the most heartwarming response after finally coming home

Senior cats deserve a home, too.We get it, everyone wants a kitten. They're tiny, they're floofy, they're playful, and purrfectly adorable. Kittens are great. But, they also make a mess of your house, keep you up all night for at least a few months, and can be a handful, to say the least. Not every home environment is suitable for kittens, also. Do you travel a lot? Work long hours? Like to make spontaneous plans? If so, then a kitten isn't for you. But what do you do if you still want a cute kitty to cuddle with? There's one simple answer: adopt a senior cat. Senior cats can be alone for long periods of time, are often quite independent, but still love your companionship. Most of the time, they just want to eat in peace, sleep, and give you love. They are more grateful than kittens, who are still learning about the world and will never really understand the difference between the shelter and your home. Senior cats, however, will thank you every day for taking them out of the scary, crowded shelter, into your quiet and loving home. That's never more apparent than in @seniorcatmk's Instagram post. She adopted a senior cat who had been living in the shelter for two years, struggling through every day, just hoping someone would see him and choose him. As soon as he gets into her home, he hugs her so tight and won't let go. He buries his face into her, just so thankful to be someone's favorite. It's enough to bring tears to your eyes, and warm up even the coldest hearts. If you're looking for something to make you cry happy tears, you've found it. Sorry, not sorry.

  • A Silly Sunday Snafoo of Feline Funnies That Are Literally Me

Are there any memes out there that are more relatable than cat memes? When people ask us what our job is, we simply say "cat memes". Technically, we're in the "internet culture" industry, but because we eat, sleep, and breathe cat memes, that's the easiest answer. As cat lovers and meme gurus, we have a whole theory why cat memes are the best thing the internet has ever created. Don't worry, we're about to tell you.Cats are the ultimate vehicle for memes. They can be fluffy and cute, or spicy and chaotic - everything just feels natural to them. Think about what you think the inside of a cat's head would sound like, if they could think like a hooman. Cynical, sharp, and pawsitively nonchalant, which is a purrfect combination for something purrrely hissterical. And then, pair their purrfect silliness with a hilarious hooman situation, you get a meowgical post that feels relatable to everyone and easy to digest. Now, some cat memes are more relatable than others. Some are meant to be pawsitively ridiculous, but some really get you right in your feels. And that's what we've gathered for you below. From one of our furrvorite X accounts, @LiterallyMeCats, we present to you some of the most relatable-st feline funnies on this side of the internet. These kitties also don't want to go to work, struggle to get through the month of June (and every month, for that matter), and also wonder how many grams of protein are in things, like cuddling your cats, or a kiss from your purrtner.Basically, they're all made to purrfectly suit you, and hopefully, make you furget about the current state of the world. Let's not take life too seriously, after all, the internet is run by cats.

  • 30 Meowlodramatic Memes of Drama Queen Cats Throwing Tiny Tantrums

Living with a cat means witnessing several completely unnecessary overreactions every day.Cats have a gift for making small problems seem absolutely enormous. A food bowl that's slightly less full than it was five minutes ago becomes a pressing issue. A closed bathroom door is treated like a personal betrayal. A blanket being adjusted beneath them is enough to trigger a look of complete disbelief. Some cats are masters of dramatic timing. They'll stare at you from across the room as if you've wronged them in some deeply personal way. Others prefer to voice their complaints at maximum volume, usually at three in the morning or the exact moment you're trying to concentrate on something. Then there are the over-the-top reactions. A harmless noise in another room sends them flying across the house. A toy gets stuck under the couch and suddenly they're starring in a tragedy. A tiny inconvenience is all it takes for a feline to unleash a performance worthy of a standing ovation.Of course, cat drama rarely lasts long. The same cat who spent ten minutes protesting a delayed dinner will be fast asleep moments later, stretched across the couch without a single concern in the world. It's all part of the charm. Cats don't just experience life. They experience it with maximum emotion, maximum confidence, and just a touch of theatrical flair.

  • 'Just upgraded from mom of 1 to mom of 3': Rescuer finds two month-old kittens abandoned by the road and couldn't leave them behind

All it takes is one person willing to stop and care to completely change a kitten's future.Cat lovers on Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit often joke about being "chosen" by a cat, but Willow and Kit's story started in a much more troubling way. The two kittens, estimated to be around a month old, were found abandoned in a box on the side of the road. On their own, they likely wouldn't have stood much of a chance. Fortunately, someone spotted them before it was too late.At the time, the kittens were tiny. They were barely old enough to be away from their mother and still had that unmistakable kitten look that makes them seem impossibly small. Their rescuer hadn't planned on bringing home two kittens that day, but some decisions make themselves. A quick trip home was followed by an even quicker run to pick up supplies. The next stop was the vet. Given the circumstances, it would have been easy to expect bad news. Instead, the vet delivered the best possible outcome. Both kittens were healthy.Fast forward to today, and it's hard to believe these are the same kittens. Willow and Kit have traded a cardboard box for a safe home, regular meals, and a family that adores them. They're thriving, growing, and settling into the spoiled indoor-cat lifestyle remarkably well.Stories like this are a reminder that sometimes a single decision can change an animal's entire future. Willow and Kit may have had a rough start, but they ended up exactly where they were meant to be.

  • 25 Cutest Cat Adoption Stories from National Cat Adoption Month to Sprinkle Pawsitivity Onto Your Timeline

The one thing on the internet that gives us more hope for humanity than anything else are all the purrfect cat adoption stories. Listen, we know that the internet has been a rough place lately. Whether the things you see are awesome or terrible is a coin toss. But one thing that has been true about the internet since the dawn of it and will continue to be true until its final electronic breath is that cats… rule the internet. It does not matter whatsoever what is happening in the world - people will always make cat content go viral. We're talking about funny cat memes and cute cat pictures, of course, but not just that. It's not only the online content that thrives. It is real-life cat communities as well. However dark things may be, people are always continuing to rescue and adopt cats. This is something that we especially want to highlight this June, for National Cat Adoption month! And it's the one thing that consistently gives us hope for humanity. Not everyone will stop for an animal in need, but enough people do. Enough to give us that hope and to fill whole lists full of adoption stories. The ones we've put together here are just from the past month, and they are the ones that caught our attention the most, not all of them, not by a long shot.

  • 26 Gentle Cat Memes to Cushion the Chaos of a Long Week

Is there any better way to decompress than letting cat memes knead the stress right out of you?It has been one long week, hasn't it? We think it has. But then again, we feel like we have been saying this about every week for the past six years at least. The world has been weird like that. The internet has been weird. The things that we love seeing the most online - basically just cute and funny cat pictures everywhere - have been drowned out by clickbate and ragebait. And we're not into that. In fact, here at ICHC, we have made it our mission to fix that. We're trying to make ICHC the one place on the internet that you know you can go to anytime and find the things that you actually want to see. Things that will comfort you and make you smile. We're talking about the cutest cat pictures, the silliest stories about cats, and, of course, the one thing that can always put a smile on our face - some purrfect cat memes. No longer do you have to wade through the wasteland that is the internet to find these things. You just come right here and let all this good cat stuff wash over you.

  • Person finds a tiny black lump on the street that turns out to be a half-blind kitten covered in fleas, now the feline is 18-years-old, has gray hairs and is loving life

The transformation that cats go through after we rescue them is always so amazing to see, especially when they start off looking like they might not make it through one night. Before and after cat rescue pictures are one of our favorite genres of images online. They reach into our hearts and souls like almost nothing else does. Seeing the power that love has, our ability to completely change an animal's life with a little bit of care and affection… it gives us hope for the world. The more of these cat rescue stories we see, the more hope we have. But generally, after we hear of the initial story, after we see the initial pictures, these adorable kitties disappear off our timelines. Sometimes, we check on them, but we could never check on them all. That is why we are so happy when stories like this one that was shared on r/blackcats gain a lot of attention. Because they deserve it. Reading the story of this cat being rescued, seeing the pictures of him in such bad condition, and then, seeing pictures of him 18 years later, living his absolute best life - that's one of the most inspirational things out there. Rescue these cats, friends. They will end up being your best friends for way more time than you might think.

  • A Meowment of Cat Memes Purrfect For Pre-Sleep Scrolls

We all have the things we love to scroll. If you don't already scroll cat memes, why not start meow? Sometimes our phones and what we do on them can feel incredible intimate. We don't want anyone to see what we like to look at. It feels deeply personal and like it's an invasion of our privacy to have someone glance over and see the reel, meme, or video we're looking at. With cat memes, you never have to worry about being embarrassed if someone sees your screen. It's the most innocent, hilarious, and ubiquitous thing to look at. Besides, everyone else loves cat memes so there's no shame in it. It's such a neutral ground of entertainment, and you can really be anyone. It's more than common to try and go to bed early, just to stay up in bed scrolling on your phone. We all do it, so there's really no shame around it. It's just too easy! After a long work day we all want a meowment of peace and quiet, where we can disengage from the world for a bit, to relax in the way we want. It's important to have time to ourselves, and if that means staying up an hour later for bedtime scrolls, then so be it. We're all human, which means we're not purrfect. Cats are, which is why they don't scroll before bed. Just kidding, it's because they don't have the consciousness and intelligence to understand humor, and also because they don't have thumbs to hold phones. So enjoy these hilarious cat memes and remember to scroll cats whenever you can!

  • Couple on vacation hear meows from under a car, they pull out an adorable kitten and sneak her into hotel: 'Sweet baby found us 3 states away'

When you're on vacation, finding a cat is probably last on your list of things to do and experience. But for this couple they didn't have much of a choice. A couple on vacation three states away from their home, and they're going to come back with a kitten from the cat distribution system. They post on Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem that they got back to their hotel room around midnight and they were about to go to bed after a long 10 hour drive. The fiancé went to their car to get something but came rushing back to the hotel room in a panic. He says there's something stuck under someone's cat and when they both go down together, they hears the meows. Suddenly a tiny kitten falls from the undercarriage of the person's cat. They immediately pick her up and she's desperate for cuddles and snuggles. She's already comfortable with them and purring. She's quite dirty but they don't want to leave her there. The hotel doesn't let animals in but they sneak her in under their jacket. Nothing was open for pet food or materials, but they had some kielbasa they gave her, which he quickly finished. They suspect she's 5 weeks old, and plan to have her furrever. Read the adorable story below, and remember that the cat distribution system can strike at any time!

  • Indie video game studio found the purrfect way to get people playing chess again, putting cats paw and center on the board

Who else wants to play chess again now? Raise your paws.We have to admit, we were never big chess fans here. We love games - video games, board games, and table-top - but chess has always felt too repetitive, too pristine and clean. Maybe it's the ADHD dopamine-searching brain talking, but… here we are admitting it fully - chess always seemed boring. But bring cats into a game, and everything changes. We love games, and we love cats - they're silly, soft, lovely, and very opinionated. And we love all that about them.So what happens when you bring chess and cats together? That's exactly what @IndieGameJoe on X found out - people are queuing up to play chess just because it has cats in it, in this new game called Cat Chess. It's basically chess, nothing in the rules has changed, but everything seems different when all the pieces on the board are animated cats who bonk each other on the head.Apparently, the combination of cats and gaming is a purrfect way to get people to play basically what you want. Whether it's chess or anything else, if the game has cats in it - we're sold. Meow up and take our money.

  • 24 Sweet Sunday Cat Memes to Prepaw Yourself for the Upcoming Workweek

We don't like the fact that the weekend is about to end, but we're going to end it with style, and that's what cat memes are for.All cat people know this simple truth - the more cats you have in your life, the better it is. And we're not talking about the Crazy Cat Lady way, even though all the respect to them - raising forty cats is not a small feat (we just hope they have the space, like Enya and her castle, and her bajillion cats). We're talking about surrounding yourself with the most cats you can, in all the ways you can. It's not just having five cats on your lap (what a dream), it's also cat memes, cat videos, hearing meows from under your window, and knowing that cats exist all around you. Ameowzing. Now that we've got that clear, it's time to focus on the fact that… the weekend is about to end soon. Yes, very sad, we know. But we, cat people, have a great advantage in dealing with this dreading fact. We have cats. Not just our own cats (although they're great), but many cats all over - like here, in these sweet cat memes.

  • Feral community feline who fell through roof into abandoned home’s garage freed after days crying for help thanks to a rescuer who wouldn’t give up, rescuer says: ‘I’m so glad Boots has a LOUD meow and my husband was paying enough attention to hear him.'

Community cats are a common thing in many parts of the world. Often fed and cared for by various local cat lovers. But the way in which this poor feline found itself becoming the local community cat is far sadder than it should have been and is likely how he found himself in such a stuck predicament. While Reddit's r/Feral_Cats subreddit is usually full of stories and questions regarding feral felines who are too scared to approach the hoomans who feed them. This story comes from a completely different angle. To begin with, the cat in question actually used to be a house cat. But after being abandoned twice by two different families this cat's faith in hoomanity had disappeared and so it resigned itself to a life on the streets. He was lucky and had some hoomans in the area who fed him, but his need for love and affection would never be fully fulfilled after having had his heart broken like that. But when he found himself stuck in an abandoned home, that is when this lonely catto came to realize that there are more than a few hoomans out there who care about him and that they might yet be a future full of love and light in his life.

  • Warmhearted Cats That Break the Chaos Kitty Stereotypes

Agents of chaos, or tiny babies? They get all the slack; there's an unfair stereotype around them that isn't all true! Do they have midnight zoomies? Yes. Do they look you in the eye while knocking your keys off the table? Yes. Do they meow at you in the early hours of the morning for breakfast? Yes. Do they try to trip you when you're walking? Yes. Do they tear up all the toilet paper if you leave it where they can reach it? Yes. But are they still lovable and little warmhearted babies? Yes, absolutely! Cats have an innate chaos within them, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve love. Sometimes social media loves to focus and fixate on the dramatic side of feline life, but here at I Can Has Cheezburger, we know that there are two sides to the coin. The decision to sprint through the house and destroy something is just a part of them, and as their owners it's important we accept them for who they are, chaos and all. Below you'll see a series of cat memes that show their gentle side, their softer side, and the side of them that we love to love.

  • 22 Wholesome Cats for a Softer Day on the Internet (June 12th, 2026)

Looking for some warm and cute energy from cats today? Let me answer that for you: of course you are, and not only today, but every day. I'm going to get a bit personal here, okay? I've always been a head-to-toe dog person. I've always had dogs, and felt like I always knew how to interact with them. The only cat I knew was my grandma's, and she was very particular. Since I didn't really get along with cats, her presence made me anxious, because I didn't know what to do. I couldn't sense if she wanted to be pet, or maybe left alone.Anyways, fast forward a few years, and both my grandparents asked me if I could move into their home to be with the cat when they were on vacation. 'Heck yes, I'm moving in!', I said. I didn't really think much of the cat. I just wanted to be home alone for a few days, do my thing, and that's it. But little did I know that that cat was going to become the most precious thing ever to me.Slowly, she started to accept my presence, and we became inseparable. She would be sad whenever I left the house, and she would find a way to let me know! And I thought that was amazing. I had never seen a cat be so smart and so communicative (that's because I'd never been with them), and I loved her right away. Since then, I have been taking care of her anytime my grandparents leave for vacation. In honour of that little sweet pea, I put together these wonderful pictures of cats for you to enjoy. If you were like me and don't really get along with any type of feline, don't worry. I'm sure that eventually you'll come across one that is going to shift your perspective about them. Because cats can do that: they know who to choose to make them fall in love with them. And that's the best part of those animals: they get to choose their hooman, rather than the opposite.

  • 28 Kitten Memes Cute Enough to Smooth Your Troubled Brain

Do kittens have magical powers or just a simple psychological effect on humans? Kitten magic, or "meowgic" as I like to call it, is as tangible as the feather toys in your living room and the tin lid of your cat's favorite wet food. Kitties have a special effect on us humans that we all can feel but can't fully explain. This meowgic is more than just an uplifting feeling, a serotonin boost, or a peaceful moment of cat-related bliss. Cats are purrfectly aware of their intoxicating effect on us; it's how they get whatever treats and playtime they desire, but as the human masters of the house, we ultimately have more to gain in the blessings department. Cats bestow good vibes upon us, and we embody a far more potent version of this liberating elation. Kittens' mews make our hearts sing. Kitten toe beans are so cute and smol, we can't resist a kiss. And kitten cuddles are so special, highlighting a kitten's smolness and vulnerability, while also fortifying their immeasurable feline strength and confidence. Exuding good energy, kittens may be chaotic goblins who break stuff in the house and eat your Pothos plants, but they're also magical beings who sprinkle kitty-scented fairy dust and good-natured fun all over the house. Smooth your brain and take a break from the noise of the world, and lean into your love for cats instead. Although they may not have bills to pay or 40-hour jobs to attend to, kittens and cats give us more than just anxiety: they give us love, snuggles, and the meowgical motivation to carry on and push forward. Kiss your cat on the forehead today and give them extra tooshie rubs, because cats deserve a little extra boost of loving and care just like us humans do. If you're like me and don't have a cat of your own, scour the streets for some friendly stray, because a cat's magic is not beholden to their personal humans, but to all of humanity as a whole. Dogs may be "man's best friend" on paper, but cats are man's best partner in life

  • 30 Hissterical Memes of Feline Logic and Furball Philosophy

Every cat follows a strict code of conduct. The problem is that nobody else knows what it is.Cats follow a very different set of rules than the rest of us. To hoomans, those rules make absolutely no sense. To cats, they're perfectly reasonable.Take boxes, for example. Size is irrelevant. A cat can be twice as large as the box and still decide it fits. The goal isn't comfort. The goal is being inside the box. Laundry baskets, grocery bags, sinks, and random containers all fall under the same category. If it can technically hold a cat, even for three seconds, it's worth trying.Food is another area where cat logic shines. A bowl that's half full is empty. A bowl that's mostly full is suspiciously empty. Even a freshly filled bowl may require dramatic meowing if the food has settled unevenly. Every cat owner has experienced being led to a food bowl that still contains plenty of food, only to learn that the cat disagrees. Then there's the strange law stating that whatever you're doing immediately becomes interesting. Open a laptop and a cat appears. Start making the bed and suddenly there's a cat in the middle of it. Try wrapping a gift and your feline assistant is ready to supervise every step.Doors deserve special mention. Closed doors must be opened immediately. Once opened, there's a strong chance the cat will simply stand there and stare. These memes celebrate the wonderfully confusing world of cat logic, where every decision seems ridiculous until you remember one important fact: the cat believes they're right every single time.

  • 'Peanut needed a friend closer to his age': Young orange kitten gets the playmate he's been waiting for after family rescues friendly feline Cinna

When one orange cat isn't enough chaos, the universe sometimes provides a second.Sometimes the right cat shows up at exactly the right time. One family recently learned that lesson after realizing their young orange cat, Peanut, could really use a friend closer to his own age. Stories like this are a big reason cat lovers enjoy browsing Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit, where unexpected feline arrivals often seem to solve problems nobody knew they had.The family already had three cats at home, including Peanut and two adult female cats. While Peanut had settled in nicely, his endless supply of kitten energy was creating a bit of chaos. After several months, it became clear that he needed a playmate who could keep up with him. That opportunity arrived when the man's wife came across a Facebook post about an orange cat that had reportedly been dumped near a local walking trail. With bad weather approaching, the couple headed out to look for him. Sure enough, they found the friendly orange cat exactly where he had been reported. Despite being on his own, he appeared healthy, affectionate, and eager for both treats and attention. The cat, now named Cinna, is safely indoors and waiting for his vet appointment before being introduced to the rest of the household. For now, he's happy, comfortable, and making himself at home. The family is hopeful that Peanut and Cinna will become the best of friends, and it's easy to see why. Cinna may have found a home, but Peanut might have found exactly what he needed too.

  • Person hears meowing from inside the wall, decides to cut a small hole when he suddenly sees a tiny paw pop out, seeking freedom, and is rewarded with a purrfect black kitten companion

The CDS can find you at the most unexpected times and places, even inside your own house, meowing at you from within the walls. One thing that we have learned over our time writing for ICHC is that not only is the CDS real but that it can catch you at any time in any place. Seriously, you will be going through the most normal day when suddenly, a cat will pop out of nowhere, and your life will change forever. We have heard so many stories. A story of a cat running up to a person and his dogs when they were on a walk and demanding to be adopted. We've heard of a person being handed a kitten through the drive-through window at a Starbucks and going home with it. We've even heard of a cat flying through someone's window directly into their lap. Honestly, we thought the latter was the craziest CDS story that we would ever hear, but we think that this one takes the cake. The story was originally shared on r/blackcats by a friend of the person who found the kitty meowing in their wall. But then the rescuer himself pitched in, telling their side of the story and giving us more amazing details about this adventure.

  • Kindhearted rescuer save a 2 week old kitten from the middle of the road, and despite a cat allergy foster the feline: 'We almost ran over the little baby'

Would you search in the sticks for 20 minutes for a kitten you barely glimpsed from the freeway? A true cat lover would. After swerving around the trembling outline of a baby cat in the road, this kindhearted rescuer risked it all to save the baby's life. Sharing their heroic story on Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem sub, this person revealed that this was no ordinary kitten and no ordinary savior. The cat was abandoned by its mother, but found by a hooman with a severe cat allergy. The conundrum purrplexed even the most devoted cat lovers, but lucky for this 2-week-old kitty, the odds were looking good for their survival, a far cry from their reality 24-hours ago… A cat-nundrum presented itself that night: do you keep the helpless kitten that triggers your allergies?

  • Former feral cat with a face full of scars keeps getting overlooked at the shelter, until one visitor returns for him 3 separate times and adopts him

It's a tough life out there as a shelter cat. You have to wait for a hooman to see you and your heart, and sometimes, that can take years. For Dr. Vincent "Fancypants" DeNozo, it took longer than it should have. But now, he has a family of his own and a pawrent that loves him!Not only do black cats have the lowest adoption rate out of any cat breed and color, but former feral ones even less. If you saw a beautiful, clean-looking cat next to one that is full of scars and partially shaved from its fur being matted together, which one would you pick? Well, we know that you would probably pick the scraggly one, but most people would pick the pretty one. That's how Dr. Vincent "Fancypants" DeNozo from Reddit's r/Cats subreddit felt. He was brought into the shelter after living a rough life in a feral colony outside. He looked ruff, and as a result, he was passed over many times by potential pawrents looking to adopt. Until, one purrson formed a connection with him, saw how beautiful he was underneath, and came back three times to finally adopt him. Now, Dr. Vincent "Fancypants" DeNozo loves his head scratches. He relishes in cuddles. He gets along with his new cat siblings and drools when he's happy. Dr. Vincent "Fancypants" DeNozo is finally living the good life, healing, and beginning his joyous journey to the indoor life slowly but surely. It just takes one purrson to change a cat's life - be that purrson. Adopt the scraggly-looking cat, they often love the hardest.

  • A Caturday Care Package of Memes for Cat Lovers Who Need a Silly Sprinkle of Hooman Catnip

If cats are allowed to roll around, get the zoomies, and stare off into space when they get catnip, why can't we do the same with cat memes? Seems like a double standard to us.Everyone has their vices. You have to in this day and age to get through the work week without expurriencing the soul-crushing effects of life itself. Some people go and exercise in the gym; some get a strangely specific hobby like making sourdough bread or writing their own fan fiction. We're not here to yuck anyone's yum, especially when ours is scrolling through the internet's endless supply of cat memes.Cat memes are like catnip for us feline fans - they make our days better, brighter, and sillier. If it were socially acceptable, we'd also bounce off the walls and sprint in circles for a few minutes, but that's apparently "not office etiquette", so we refrain from doing that. But luckily, today is Caturday, and we're not in the office, so we can do whatever we want while enjoying our Caturday care package of feline funnies. Sprinkle them all over your soul to give your mood a few minutes of laughs and may your weekend be jolly and wholesome!

  • 'Mochi magically turned into a full-time lap cat': 20 Tender Times Feline Friends Showed Their Cat Parents Care and Affection

Cats just know. Some people walk around in the world with the assumption that cats are emotionally detached, aloof, and independent to a fault. They could never be more wrong. Any person who has ever had a cat - as wild and silly as cats can be - knows that cats are affection-giving specialists with a care engine that runs on purrs. Cats aren't distant, they're just choose who they get close to. And when they do - cats really do show they care for their humans. Once you've been chosen by a cat, you've won a fluffy friend for life.Since we're proudly and unapologetically cat people, we know that cats care. We see it with our own cats, who offer a comforting paw when we're sad, or snuggle next to us and purr when we're sick. But we also know it from the many wholesome stories of the online feline family, and specifically ours. We asked the lovely cat people over at the I Can Has Cheezburger Facebook a simple thing - to tell us about all the sweet and tender times their cats showed them that they care and displayed affection. Your stories are heart-melting, and we're practically a puddle by now.

  • 'Head empty, no thoughts': 23 Serious Cats Staring Into your Soul

They say 'eyes are the window to the soul', and these kitties have found a way to look at ours. Whether they're solving ancient mysteries or simply judging your life choices, these serious cats have one thing in common: zero interest in blinking first. Scroll through and try to hold their gaze, spoiler alert, you won't last long.

  • 30 Adorable Pictures of Palm-Sized Kittens Delivering Handfuls of Cuteness

Before cats take over our homes, they start out small enough to fit in our hands. Some kittens are so smol that a human hand looks enormous next to them. They can curl up in a palm, rest against a few fingers, and somehow still have room to spare. Looking at them almost doesn't seem real. It's hard to believe that these tiny furballs will eventually grow into full-sized cats capable of taking over an entire couch. At that age, everything about them is miniature. Their paws are barely bigger than a fingertip. Their noses are tiny enough to boop with a single finger. Even their little tails seem impossibly small. A kitten that fits in the palm of a hand makes you appreciate just how tiny cats are when they first start out in the world. These photos also put their rapid growth into perspective. A kitten that comfortably fits in one hand today may be climbing furniture, stealing seats, and demanding dinner in just a few short months. The palm-sized stage doesn't last long, which is part of what makes it so special to look back on.Until then, they're content being tiny bundles of fluff that can be scooped up with one hand and carried around like precious cargo. Whether they're sleeping, stretching, or staring up with wide eyes, these little kittens are proof that some of the cutest moments come in the smallest packages.

  • 'I kept waiting for a visit from the CDS': Theo went looking for a friend and got a whole feline family instead

Sometimes the best solution to a cat problem is more cats. Most stories shared on Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit begin with a random cat showing up on someone's doorstep. Theo's story took a slightly different route. After spending months waiting for the CDS to send his cat a companion, his owner decided to give the system a little help and headed to a local PetSmart adoption event instead.Theo was once part of a three-cat household, but after becoming the only feline in the home, he started showing signs that he might be missing some company. He frequently tried to sneak outside and explore, leading his owner to suspect that what he really wanted was another cat or two to share his days with. One visit to the adoption event led to an unexpected bonus. Rather than coming home with a single cat, the family adopted a bonded mother-daughter pair. Vinny, who has since been renamed Lavinia, and her daughter Vida quickly settled into their new surroundings and wasted no time making themselves comfortable.Theo may have been hoping for some feline companionship, but he probably wasn't expecting two sisters ready to shake up the household. According to their owner, Lavinia and Vida are already competing with him for the best spots on the bed and making their presence known. Fortunately, everyone appears to be settling in nicely.

  • 38 Purrfectly Precious Friday Feline Funnies for a Cute Cat Meowment

What a meowing celebration, it's Friday! We can't believe it, Friday is finally here! Let the celebrations begin - let's all finish the week and leave all our worries behind, go back home, find the most comfortable corner in the house, call the cat over, and enjoy a really long cat cuddle. We love that they do that. When your cat sits on you, it shows two things: First, that they trust you. A cat would never initiate physical contact with someone whom they don't completely and utterly trust. And second, that they think you're comfortable. Yeah, that's a compliment. So we got that pre-weekend relaxation down, but we want to stop for a second and appreciate it's even an option. Think of all the people who don't have cats at home - they don't have the best cuddle buddies to wind down with after a long workweek. Not to mention dog owners, who need to go with their dogs on a walk, despite the fact that the workweek has ended. With a cat you can calm down, and fully embrace that weekend relaxation - even before the weekend has started. You know what the best part of cuddling with a purring cat on your lap, chest, or any other body part they deem pillowy enough is? The fact that you can have even more cats in that meowing moment, by scrolling through the cutest cat memes you can find. But here's the icing on this cake - you don't have to go and find them. We got you here, with some extra purrrrrrecious cat content. Enjoy, and tell your cat we love them.

  • ‘Better than a proposal!’: Boyfriend brings a bouquet of flowers with a surprise kitten sitting amongst the petals, girlfriend and cat people approve

Would you rather get a bouquet of flowers or a kitten? How about a bouquet of flowers with a kitten inside it? Yep, apparently that is an option! Somebody, please, go tell my boyfriend that… TikToker @athenasav recently posted a video her boyfriend took that had her in tears. He surprised her one day, coming home with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, but that's not all… Inside the bouquet sat a sweet little kitten, anxious to meet his new hooman. Of course, she immediately spotted the kitten and started crying from shock and cuteness. Heck, she doesn't even acknowledge the flowers, but can you blame her? Now, that kitten is living his best life, and the bar for boyfriends has gone so much higher. It's not just me and this girlfriend on TikTok who agree; it's over 8k commenters on TikTok, too!

  • Abandoned kitten turns up in a woman's garage with nowhere to go; two years on, she shares Fiona's journey from dumped to deeply loved.

From rags to riches, from hisses to meows.Technically speaking, every stray cat who was adopted has a rags-to-riches tale of triumph. It doesn't matter if they were a small kitten in need, an adult cat who sort of let themselves in and adopted the entire household, or a dumped cat at the side of the road. Every cat that was once roaming the streets and was adopted into a loving home is a fairytale complete in our opinion. It makes us just as happy as watching Mia Thermopolis turn from a nerdy outcast into the princess and heir to the throne of Genovia. Not just because cats are basically royalty, but because this was a good movie that actually made us happy as kids, and now cats make us happy as adults. And just as any cat pawrent who adopted a sweet stray into their home and heart, u/Tinytiger00004 who shared the adoption story of her cat seems just as proud and happy as any cat pawrent would. Her cat is a classic Cat Distribution System case - a dumped kitten in need finds herself in a random garage, that jusso happen to belong to the one person who will care for her, nurse her back to health, and adopt her for good. A purrfect match.Reflecting on the long way our cats made with us is great, and reminiscing about it with the right company of fellow feline fans is even greater. That's why we're grateful to this cat mom for sharing her and her cat's two-year journey together. The only thing left for us to do is wish her many more years of good times with her cat, Fiona. May they be filled with purrs, belly rubs, and yummy snacks.

  • 36 Heartwarming Friday Felines for a Dreamy Meowment of Cuddly Cat Chaos

A Friday without heartwarming kitties is like a Monday without coffee. And we all know how bad Mondays without coffee are. There are several things we can't survive without in this world. The first, obviously, is our cats. They are the reason we wake up in the meowrning, the reason we keep coming back to the office every day, and the reason we come home every night. The second, is coffee. We know it sounds stereotypical, but you don't want to talk to us before we've had our coffee. The third, but only by a little bit, are all the cute kitties we're "friends" with on the internet. Well, we don't know them, per se, but we love them as if they were our own cat children. It may be a one-way relationship, but that's fine, we're not the jealous type. But one day of the week absolutely must include some wholesome feline photos, and that day is today, Friday. Fridays are the days when we have the least meowtivation to do anything, and we also need the most emeowtional support to get through the workday. And since we can't bring our cats with us to work, and there's only so much coffee we can drink before becoming an anxious mess, we're left with a need for heartwarming Friday felines to give us a dreamy meowment of cuddly cat chaos. These seriously silly kitties have it all - the floof, the comforting vibes, the mischievousness we know and love, and the cuteness that we need to get us through today without telling Brenda from Analytics how we really feel about her homemade bran muffins. If any of those things above resonate with you and your current emeowtional state, or purrhaps, you just want some more cute kitten energy in your life, then this post is tailored purrfectly for you. The  cat lover in us sees and recognizes the cat lover in you, or whatever they say. Nameowste!

  • Jessami - an Illustrated Biodiversity Map

Last year in March, commissioned by Roundglass Sustain, I travelled to Jessami, a Naga village in the remote north-eastern corner of Manipur. Inhabited primarily by members of the Chakhesang tribe, Jessami's residents have historically hunted birds and other wildlife as means of sustenance. Now, the village and its residents are actively involved in the conservation of the region's birdlife and wildlife, with Manipur's State Bird the Hume's Pheasant being the cornerstone and the pride of the village. This illustrated map details Jessami's rich biodiversity- to be used both as a handy tool for locals and guides, as well as collectibles and souvenirs for tourists and wildlife enthusiasts. The map's visual style and illustrated elements pay homage to weavers of the Chakhesang community, whose art is passed only in person intergenerationally, and created seldom with any monetary motive!A big thanks to Neha Dara and Megha Moorthy of Roundglass Sustain for trusting me with this project, Weyepe Mekrisuh and Asset Weyzah for guiding me during my field visit and for sharing their immense knowledge of local history, topography and culture with me. Thanks also to Mr. Weyzah for opening the doors of his home to me, where Mrs. Weyzah generously taught me her family recipe of Eromba, and where his uncles and aunts gave me invaluable insights into the community's art and fabric.I urge fellow birdwatchers, wildlife enthusiasts as well as those looking for enriching artistic and ethnographic experiences, to visit Jessami and support the Jessami Village Council's efforts to sustain the tourism models that they have instituted to safeguard the avifauna and the wildlife of the region, including the iconic Hume's Pheasant, an IUCN Vulnerable species. More information about Jessami can be accessed on this Roundglass Sustain article of which this map illustration is a part.

  • The Great African Seaforest

(Click on the image for a larger view)In one of my lengthiest and most detailed illustration projects yet, I got the honour of working closely with the fabulous team at The Seachange Project (creators of the Oscar winning documentary 'My Octopus Teacher')- to create a vision of hope for the Great African Seaforest, a vast expanse of kelp forest in the Atlantic Ocean along the western coast of South Africa. From the glamorous Cape Fur Seal, Cape Clawless Otter and the African Penguin to little known klipfish and limpets, the Great African Seaforest is home to a myriad marine organisms that make the kelp a living, breathing, and a dancing ecosystem! Many of these creatures are threatened by overfishing and anthropogenic disturbances today, and conservationists at the Seachange Project are working towards establishing safe, undisturbed habitats for these species to bounce back. The illustration is available as a freely downloadable resource on the organization's website here. A massive thanks to the Seachange team (Swati Thiyagarajan, Craig Foster, Carina Frankal, Dani Ehrlich, Jannes Landschoff) for trusting me with the illustration, for having me at Cape Town for a field visit, and for their patience through the project!

  • Whale Hybridization

New studies have found that hybridization between two of the largest animals on earth- the Blue Whale and the Fin Whale, is far more common than previously thought. What's more, some of these hybrids have also found to be fertile, indicating the occurrence to be beneficial particularly for the endangered Blue Whale! Cartoon for Roundglass Sustain.

  • Nepal: Mountains, People, Biodiversity

(click on the image for a larger view)Every mountaineer dreams of summiting the Himalayas where they are at their mightiest- Nepal. As an illustrator and an orophile, my dream of summiting Nepal's mountains was through drawing them, and this map of our beautiful neighbour's biodiversity, mountains and people, created for the International Mountain Museum at Pokhara, was the perfect opportunity! From the tallest peaks in the world to the most pristine grasslands, from creatures as large as the Wild Yak and the bone-cracking Lammergeiers, to the diminutive Hispid Hare and the Himalayan Newt, from intricate architectural marvels like the Darbar Square monuments to the rustic Mustang Caves, here is Nepal in all its glory.Nepal's majesty, mystique and aura can never be justly captured in illustration, and certainly not contemporary illustration. So when this challenge was thrown at me, I was convinced that incorporating stylistic elements from its indigenous art form Paubha (the precursor to Himalayan Thangka) would be the only way of doing justice to a project of this nature. I must convey a huge thanks to Samuel Thomas for facilitating a visit to the veteran Nepalese Paubha artist Lok Chitrakar's art studio, where I received some very important quick tips and insights into not just the art form but also the mind of the Paubha artists who he trains. The map will soon be on display at the International Mountain Museum. If you happen to visit Pokhara, do pay the museum a visit!
